I thought my VW Polo's ECU was failing (car was running properly), so I bought a different computer 2nd hand from a VW Polo.
I removed the immo chip from the 2nd hand one, and replaced it with the original chip from my existing computer.
The car didn't start with this setup.
When I put the original chip back into my original ECU, my car won't start anymore either.
When I read the 93c76 with CarProg (clone) , it reads all zero's.
Verify is ok though.
Is it possible when u unsolder the chip outta the ECU, it will lose it contents? Like some sorta security?
How can I get back the data of the original chip, or how can I put it on a new chip?
