I was asked to look at a 3 Series WBAPG12080955200 which was behaving strangely.
Car has irregular idle, smoking on acceleration and has way too much power for 318D.
Suspected bad tuning so ran ISTA-P session, then things got more interesting, it appears the car has wrong ECU fitted.
INPA shows car has:
Teile Nr 8512043 SGBD /Gruppe Unknown
ZB Nummer 8516323
ISTA-P shows car has:
Basic Number 8512013
Actual Programmed 8516323
But ISTA-P says car has wrong ECU and need to fit Programmed 8519748.
It appears the ECU in the car is a DDE701 EDC17CP50, and car should have DDE721 EDC17C41.
I don't have locksmith/reflashing tools, I only have ICOM, ISTA D+P, WinKFP, NCSexpert, etc.
Is there any way I can flash 8519748 to the ECU fitted already to the car and will it work?
