Hello mates,
Like many, I have been using the Renault VISU wiring diagrams and it is of great help. However, often I have often found that the wiring diagrams do not match the actual wiring in the vehicle and was wondering why. I always thought that using the latest VISU file I have (e.g. V5.0) would cover all earlier models, but after checking now the VISU built in help menu I see I was wrong, as Renault themselves write:
------------------------------------------
As with paper Wiring Diagram Technical Notes, a VISU-Schéma CD-ROM contains
the wiring diagrams for a vehicle starting from a given date up to the next CD-ROM.
It is essential to keep ALL VISU-Schéma CD-ROMs. A new CD-ROM does not
replace the previous one.
------------------------------------------
Find the correct diagram or title
1. Select the correct VISU Schéma CD-ROM, according to
a) the vehicle, Clio, Laguna, etc.
b) the manufacture date of the vehicle (by default, the date it was first
distributed)
-------------------------------------------
Thus, Renault clearly state that for every vehicle the proper VISU DVD (NTxxxx) must be used based on the vehicle's manufacture date, and I have also found this to be true in practice, i.e. using the wrong NTxxx gives wrong wiring diagrams. I also have access to the Renault Infotech website via a dealer garage where you can select vehicle info by it's VIN, and using this method the matching is always perfect.
So in order to use VISU properly, what is needed for every vehicle is finding it's exact manufacture date, as well as knowing all NTxxxx's release dates. The problem is that I have found that both are difficult to obtain:
1. Many of the NTxxxx ISO files available here at AP as well as elsewhere do not include the release date in their file name.
2. I cannot find the vehicle's manufacture date marked anywhere in the vehicle.
Can someone point me where to obtain these two infos, i.e. a list of all NTxxxx ever released with their release dates, as well as finding a vehicle's exact manufacturing date from VIN or marked somewhere in the vehicle?
Thanks.
