I am looking to purchase a clone MB scan tool, but with so many options I am unsure what I need. Is there a guide anywhere that describes what each version of the tool is capable of doing and what cars it can talk to?
I work on only newer cars and only higher end models. A 2007 E55 would be the oldest and cheapest Mercedes in my shop, but most that I would need to talk to are 2011 or 2012. I do not do major diagnostic work, only performance upgrades, so I need the tool to be able to reset the air suspension after modification, check/reset faults in the engine after ECU upgrades, and view transmission data after valve body modifications. The trouble is that Mercedes is not one of my shop's core brands so my owners will not let me spend as much money as I would like on a good tool.
I believe that I need a C4, but will a C3 also work on new cars?
