Evening guys.
I have a problem with the car from the title, a 2009 W204, which was towed to me as a non starter.
The problem: there is no starter activation signal, from engine ECU to the SAM-F.
The story: the car was in our workshop 3 weeks ago for timing chain replacement. At that time my colleagues have pulled the engine with the gearbox out and replaced the timing chain, gears, etc. The car has started, the customer took it and all was fine. And 3 weeks later it was towed as a non starter to us.
Before I to step in, my colleagues have changed: engine ECU, EZS, starter motor. All with brand new parts.
Now the workshop manager is desperate and has asked me if I can take a look at the car.
I have checked the following: Keys recognition - ok, start authorization - ok in all controllers, power supply and grounds of engine ECU - all ok.
If I bridge the starter relay, the car starts. Also ignition is ok and ESL is ok (bit loud, but working). Also there are no any DTC's.
Although there is something very strange. If I attempt to start the car, turning the key normally, nothing happens. If I turn the key very fast to the end, it activates the starter motor, but only for a split of a second. Also sometime (1 from 20) it also starts, but with a bang in the gearbox, and it feels like I'm trying to start a car with a manual gearbox in gear. The car has the 5 speed auto transmission. In transmission all data is ok.
For reference VIN: WDD2042451F374791.
Any help, advices or ideas what eventually I\m missing are welcome.
