Hello AP I've got a 1991 VW Golf GTi. It originally came with a 1781 ccm engine, now they have changed the engine to a 2.0 litre engine code ABF, with a different VW ECU and wiring loom this ECU however seems to be coded as the wiring comes with a brown immobiliser box as well as a reader coil there was however no key supplied to match immobiliser box and ECU.
The car was bought as an ongoing project someone has already tried to incorporate the wiring loom into the car all the main wiring seems to be in order but the car will not start, I have diagnostic communication with the engine ECU. But whenever I crank I'm not getting any spark from the coil to the spark plugs. The coil will send a single spark when the ignition is switched on but nothing when you crank engine over. I have come to the conclusion that the ECU needs to be decoded. As the older version did not use an immobiliser in the system.
At present I'm trying to find a dump of this ECU part number 037906024BE which should be from a 1996-97 golf it's a Siemens. As I have already got a Megamos transponder and would like to try reprogram it with AVDI what I haven't got is a working dump can one of you guys help? Any info with the production of a VW key using AVDI would also be helpful. I.E.: Which transponder etc thanks....
I've also got another ECU present with part number 037906026AB which was said to have been already decoded but I get the same issue so I'm not sure if it was done properly if done at all. The problem is that whenever I do a part search for this particular ECU it's not being recognized so I'm not really too bothered about this one I just need a working dump for the 037906024BE ECU.
