Fitted 2nd hand ECM, updated ECM and reprogrammed VIN. Coded key.
Car cranks but non start.
Only DTC P1616 - Wrong vehicle ID from instrument cluster.
Tried to program vehicle ID but failed as seems to be a communication issue.
I have no comms with instrument cluster if I try to read DTCS directly from it.
Tried with my MongoosePro GM and tried with a friend's Tech2, still no comms with instrument cluster.
However with an aftermarket tool (Delphi) I have comms, can actuate rev counter etc and no faults stored in instrument cluster as read with Delphi.
