Citroen C2 3door 1.4 petrol 2005

Remote will not work central locking and the button on the dash also does not operate the locks, the red light in the button seems to work when button pressed.
Vehicle has had BSI set for checking by another garage and the problem went away until battery went flat (owner told me this).
Looking in Lexia only one key programmed to vehicle so this will explain why other key does not start the car (owner could not start vehicle) don't know if they tried both keys.
Have tried remote resetting by putting key in ignition and switching on, hold lock button for approx 10 seconds, switch off and release button, wait 60 secs.
Lexia will lock and unlock all doors and boot.
