Hello all,
A customer 2010 Ford KA 1.2 came into the shop with engine management light on.
Fault codes in system:
P0300 Random misfire
P0302 Misfire cylinder 2
P0303 Misfire cylinder 3.
Faults reset and test drive performed, where when car was above 3500 rpm in 4th gear, engine management light came on and it went on 2 cylinders.
We have been though following:
Compression test: Very high and the same on all 4
Leak check
New crankshaft sensor (Helped a bit)
New spark plugs, coil and leads
Tested O2 sensors and changed 1 as it was slow.
MAP sensor tested
Came to the conclusion that ignition part in ECU must have been damaged as the car had previous been driving with defect coil according to customer.
Changed the ECU and it helped a lot, now car is running smooth when accelerating and on all 4 cylinders, BUT it still logs P0300, P0302, P0303.
Any of you have had any experience with such a problem?
All help is very much appreciated.
