I have a Alfa 156 2.0 TS 1998 with Bosch M 1.5.5 ecu in the garage that throws up the code P0340, cam sensor short to ground.
When pulling the connector for the sensor the code changes to short to bat + or open circuit.
I have measured the circuit and there is no connection to earth from signal wire and sensor gives out pulses.
I have even tried to change the sensor to a new just to check and no difference.
I am using Bosch KTS Esitronic 2.0 for reading DTC.
There is no live reading for cam sensor only rpm and that shows right rpm.
Anyone had this problem before?
Is it the ECU?
Maybe Bosch misreading DTC?
Car sometimes start and sometimes not but smells fuel, overfueling like its supposed to if the cam sensor is broken.
Thankful for help or ideas.
