For testing reasons, I installed an older version of Techstream, 7.00 something on another identical laptop. I use a genuine Mongoose MFC (not Pro). On the laptop with the older version, techstream does not auto-detect my MFC cable, and I have issues even though I used the drewtech J2534 version 3 toolbox, and the cable communicates with the car fine. I managed to extract a VIN,among other things.
Is there a way to make the older version work without uninstalling the newer version and downgrading (erase and reinstall) older firmware on the MFC connector?
The reason I want to test the old version is to extract SEED code(to obtain passcode) of old version as many support 7.31 and older Techstream versions, but very few touch the new algorithms on 8.00.034 yet. I have a guy in Lithuania supposed to try tomorrow, but the time difference is a problem for me.
